This morning, as part of the High-level International Conference on Countering Terrorism and Preventing Violent Extremism, which will be held in Tajikistan on May 3-4, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman Muhammad al-Zarafi visited the National Museum of Tajikistan to be acquainted with the history and culture of the Tajik people.
For the guests of the museum, was organized a professional high-level excursion. In the exposition of the nature department of the Museum, the guests were acquainted with the nature of Tajikistan - expensive minerals, animals and vegetation, dioramas of sanctuaries and reserves. Also, the guests got acquainted with the epochs of the Achaemenes, Sassanid’s, Ancient Penjikent, Bunjikat, the corner of Islamic Culture, the Buddhist Monastery of Ajinateppa, the Coins, as well as the exhibition halls of the Department of New and Contemporary History and hall of the "Gifts of the President of Tajikistan".
Should note that the attention of the guests was most of all attracted by historical monuments of the Samanid’s era, especially woodcarving the most famous historical monument of the Tajik people – “Mehrab Iskodar”. When the director of the National Museum of Tajikistan Abduvali Sharifzoda told about the monument with a high sense of patriotism, the guests praised and wished success in collecting and preserving the historical heritage.
At the end of the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister of Oman Muhammad al-Zarafi as a sign of friendship expressed his impressions of the National Museum of Tajikistan in the book "The Honorable Guest".
