Department of modern and contemporary history

In the halls of modern and contemporary history are displayed exhibits and documents on the history of the period of the Soviet Tajikistan (1917-1991). These materials tell about the economy, socio-cultural life of the republic, participation of Tajikistan’s population in the Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945. Also in the department of modern and contemporary history are shown the achievements of the Republic of Tajikistan during the Independence period: foreign policy, achievements in the sphere of economy, agrarian, construction of roads, tunnels, cultural and residential complexes. The exposition of modern and contemporary history ends with a large round hall, where presented the gifts of the heads of foreign states and major international organizations to The Founder of Peace and national unity, the leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan his excellency Emomali Rakhmon.
